Mariam lost her soldier brother and her husband in a single day. Little Alvina saw her father for only one day of her life, and they never even had the chance to take a family photo together.

Mariam’s husband, Arsen, was on the front line when their first child, Alvina, was born on the 22nd.

On September 24, by a miracle, Mariam’s husband and brother returned home alive.

On September 25, Arsen and Zhoka went out to look for fuel. Hours later, the sound of a powerful explosion was heard.

Mariam’s husband and brother were killed.

Mariam searched the empty streets of Stepanakert for her husband and brother, while also trying to find food for her newborn baby. The searches were in vain, and at the same time the enemy was already approaching the outskirts of Stepanakert. On September 29, Mariam was forced to leave Artsakh.

After three years of living in rented apartments, today Mariam has a home through a state support program. However, the apartment is still empty. Mariam cannot afford to pay rent and furnish the new home at the same time. Now it is our turn, as the IMAST community, to help furnish part of this home.
