Every year in Armenia, approximately 30 children are diagnosed with Leishmaniasis, a serious disease caused by the Leishmania parasite transmitted through mosquito bites. Without proper medical treatment, this illness can be fatal. Unfortunately, the life-saving medication Ambisome, crucial for treating these children, is expensive and not registered in Armenia, making it challenging for families to access and afford the necessary medicine.

The solution lies in providing timely treatment with Ambisome, ensuring full recovery for almost all affected children. Annually, about 130 vials of Ambisome are required to treat all sick children.
