In 2024, 12-year-old Arthur was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer. Since then, he has been receiving the best possible care and treatment in Armenia, fully funded by the City of Smile Foundation—and he continues to live his life with energy and hope.

Arthur is passionate about sports, especially weightlifting, where he had already started achieving success. But for now, he has had to pause his training as he bravely fights cancer. Arthur is a huge fan of Armenian weightlifter Varazdat Lalayan, and closely follows his competitions.

Thankfully, Arthur is responding well to treatment. However, doctors have now recommended limb-sparing surgery to remove the affected bone in his arm and replace it with a custom-made endoprosthesis.

This endoprosthesis is being produced to fit Arthur’s unique anatomy and will be imported from the Czech Republic. The total cost is 1,800,000 AMD (approximately $4,500 USD).
