The teenager in the photo is 16-year-old Rashid. Like many boys his age, Rashid has dreams and goals for the future. But today, he is facing a serious health crisis, and his life is in danger.

He has been diagnosed with a severe liver disease — autoimmune liver cirrhosis and sclerosing cholangitis — which have led to chronic liver failure and other serious complications. Rashid’s liver can no longer perform its vital functions properly, and he urgently needs a liver transplant.

Rashid’s test results were reviewed by an experienced team of transplant surgeons in Minsk, and it was decided that a living-donor liver transplant must be performed as soon as possible. His mother will be the donor.

The cost of the surgery is 19,000,000 AMD. Of this amount, 5,000,000 AMD will be covered by the state. At this stage, 14,000,000 AMD still needs to be raised in order to organize the life-saving operation Rashid needs.
