About
Armen and Aram are two wonderful brothers — bright, intelligent, and incredibly strong. Since early childhood, they have been battling spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a severe genetic disease that gradually weakens the muscles and severely limits mobility.
Neither of the boys can sit or walk, and they move only with the help of wheelchairs.
As SMA progresses, it becomes dangerous not only for mobility but for life itself — leading to respiratory and orthopedic complications, as well as difficulties with swallowing and eating. Sadly, their health has been deteriorating noticeably.
There is hope: the gene-therapy medication Evrysdi (Risdiplam) can significantly slow down — and in some cases even halt — the progression of the disease when taken continuously.
But this life-saving treatment is extremely expensive and unavailable in Armenia. The required monthly dose for Armen and Aram together costs 1,525,000 AMD.
Armen, the older brother, loves singing and takes vocal lessons. He dreams of one day playing football.
Aram, the younger one, loves mathematics and playing the dhol. At school, everyone adores these kind, bright boys and supports them in every way they can.
Their family is doing everything possible to ensure they receive the treatment available in Armenia, but they cannot cope with this burden alone.
Let’s help these wonderful boys live without pain and give them a chance at a full, meaningful life by providing the medication they urgently need.
Together, we have already raised the amount needed to cover one month of medication.
The brothers still need to continue this essential treatment for a full year.
