Meet Narek, a bright and intelligent boy who fights a serious illness every single day.

From early childhood, Narek was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy type 2. He is unable to move independently and spends most of his day either lying down or sitting. As a result of the illness, Narek has also developed severe respiratory complications.

Because of his condition, Narek has never attended school. However, he taught himself Russian, loves playing board games, and stays actively connected with friends, keeping his curiosity and joy for life alive.

Narek’s health depends on a single medication that must be taken every month. Unfortunately, this medication is extremely expensive and not available in Armenia. The required amount for one month is approximately 610,000 AMD.

To organize his treatment properly and effectively, Narek also needs a genetic test, which costs 95,000 AMD. In addition, to ensure safe breathing, he urgently needs a special respiratory device, priced at 1,350,000 AMD.

Narek lives with his father and grandmother. Sadly, his grandmother is also immobile, and despite his father’s tireless efforts, he is unable to cover all medical and care related expenses on his own.
