The smiling boy in the photo is 12-year-old Alik. He loves animals very much and takes great care of his pigeons. Alik also enjoys gardening and loves planting trees.

In December 2025, medical examinations showed that Alik needs a kidney transplant. Since then, he has been receiving scheduled hemodialysis treatment.

Alik’s health problems began when he was only 2 months old, when a congenital urinary tract condition was discovered, which later led to hydronephrosis. From a very young age, he has been hospitalized many times, received different kinds of medical treatment, and undergone two surgeries.

After the surgeries, it seemed that the hardest stage was already behind him. But over the years, the consequences of the condition seriously affected his kidney function. He remained under constant medical supervision in order to monitor his health and prevent possible complications.

The total cost of the kidney transplant surgery is 6,500,000 AMD. Of this amount, 4,000,000 AMD is covered by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia, while the remaining 2,500,000 AMD must be paid by the family as a co-payment.

In addition, according to doctors’ instructions, Alik also needs the medication Simulect, which is used during transplantation to reduce the risk of organ rejection. The cost of this medication is around 540,000 AMD.

In total, 3,040,000 AMD needs to be raised in order to organize Alik’s kidney transplant surgery and provide the necessary medical support.
