The bright young girl in the photo is Maria, a 9-year-old who is currently fighting a difficult and painful battle for her health.

In March of this year, Maria began complaining about pain in her legs, and her parents noticed she looked unusually pale. After extensive examinations, she was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure and anemia. Her life now depends on regular hemodialysis treatments, which she receives continuously. Once her condition stabilizes, Maria will need a kidney transplant.

At this stage, Maria urgently needs treatment with the medications Zemplar and Venofer, which together cost 377,000 AMD.

Maria’s mother suffered from the same illness and, heartbreakingly, the family lost her just two months ago.

Despite everything she is going through, Maria remains a creative and loving child. She enjoys drawing, dancing, and making things out of clay or plasticine. She adores her older sister and brother and dreams of the day when both she and her brother will be healthy again.
