About

The girl in the photo is 15-year-old Mane — a bright and strong young girl whose health struggle began in early childhood.

When Mane was just six years old, she began to experience serious motor difficulties. Genetic testing later confirmed that she has progressive autosomal-dominant dystonia (DYT28) caused by a mutation in the KMT2B gene. This rare neurological disorder leads to involuntary muscle contractions and causes serious difficulties with movement control and speech.

As the disease progressed rapidly, Mane underwent deep brain stimulation surgery in 2022, during which a neurostimulator was implanted in the globus pallidus internus (GPi). The operation was successfully performed by experienced specialists at Arabkir Medical Complex, with financial support from the Children of Armenia Health Fund.

However, in 2025 the neurostimulator stopped functioning, causing the stimulation therapy to cease and leading to a sharp deterioration in Mane’s condition.

She now urgently needs replacement of the neurostimulator to prevent further progression of the disease. The total cost of the device and the necessary medical components is 7,800,584 AMD, a sum far beyond what the family can afford.

Today, Mane needs the support of each of us.
With our collective help, she can receive the treatment she needs and regain the chance to move, speak, and live as fully as possible.
