Meet Abraham. A few months ago, he was admitted to the University of Toronto to study Biological Sciences with a focus on Neuroscience, where he will be able to deeply research neurodegenerative diseases.

Abraham’s interest in this field began at an early age, influenced by the presence of neurodegenerative diseases in his own family. His curiosity was limitless, but unfortunately, his educational and scientific opportunities were not. There were no advanced labs, modern equipment, or local experts in this area. Yet Abraham’s curiosity never faded. His knowledge of German allowed him to participate in a volunteer social program in Germany at a senior care center, where the focus was on people living with dementia. There, Abraham gained real experience working alongside skilled doctors and psychologists.

His journey, however, was not easy. After returning to Armenia, his father faced health problems and could no longer work. This forced Abraham to pause his academic plans in order to support his family.

Now, when he finally has the opportunity to study in his dream field, Abraham needs our support, because studying at such a prestigious university is very costly. He has received a scholarship, but it does not cover all tuition expenses.
