Meet Zhanna — a bright, optimistic, and multi-talented young girl who has been living with Type 1 diabetes for the past six years. She doesn’t see diabetes as a disease but rather as a lifestyle — because without a strict routine, the condition can pose serious risks to her health.

To keep her diabetes under control, Zhanna follows her doctor’s recommendations and takes insulin. However, to manage it properly and take her insulin at the right time, she needs a glucometer — one that must be replaced twice a month. Each glucometer costs 24,000 AMD. Zhanna is an outstanding student. She has a background in music, speaks four foreign languages, and knows several programming languages. Since January 2020, she has been attending the Armath Engineering Lab and, since September 2023, has volunteered there as a teaching assistant for junior groups.

In 2024, she also joined the COAF “Access English” program and volunteers with different organizations, always seeking ways to support her community.
