15-year-old Alex, whose story many of you already know, once again needs all of our support. Thanks to you, we have already been able to help Alex twice by providing him with the vital medications he needed.

Despite intensive treatment, Alex’s condition remains extremely severe. However, treatment with the antibiotics Tigecycline and Polymyxin has led to some positive progress. His doctors now consider it important to continue targeted antibacterial treatment with ceftazidime/avibactam for 14 days. The total cost of the medication required for this course is 3,276,000 AMD, an amount the family cannot cover on their own.

In May of this year, Alex was diagnosed with a severe brain condition accompanied by a number of serious complications. He underwent surgery, and an intracranial pressure sensor was placed. He is in a severe vegetative state, has tetraparesis, and a pronounced immune system disorder. His condition has also been complicated by acute kidney injury, a septic course, and multi-organ failure.

Doctors continue to do everything possible to stabilize Alex’s condition and provide the treatment he needs.

Today, Alex’s large family — his four sisters, brother, and parents — has just one greatest wish: to see him recover and once again be full of life, strength, and dreams.
