In the photo is little Mikael, a tiny angel who is only four months old, yet already fighting for his life.

A few days ago, Mikael developed a high fever and was urgently taken to the hospital. Medical examinations revealed pancytopenia, a condition marked by a decrease in all blood cell types, as well as splenomegaly, an enlarged spleen. As a result, he was transferred to the Hematology Center to receive specialized care.

At this moment, a genetic test is vital for Mikael in order to establish an accurate diagnosis and develop the correct, targeted treatment plan. In addition, he urgently needs a platelet concentrate transfusion, as he has severe thrombocytopenia, which significantly increases the risk of bleeding during venous catheter placement.

The total cost of the genetic testing and the platelet concentrate is 403,000 AMD, an amount the family is unable to cover on their own.
