At the “Meronts Tun” care center, not only Grandpa Rafik, but dozens of other elderly residents receive round-the-clock care. Here they are surrounded by attention and a safe environment, yet in order to make their daily life warmer and more active — and to bring back a sense of the home and yard they miss — the center plans to create a small farm.

The center’s building and land conditions make it possible to establish a small farm that will directly serve the well-being of its residents. The elderly will take part in the farm mostly in an engaging and recreational way, while the main care and maintenance will be carried out by the staff.

This project will not only bring new life, interest, and meaningful activity to the center, but will also enrich the residents’ meals with fresh eggs and rabbit meat.

This initiative is another step toward making the daily lives of our elderly warmer, more dignified, and more fulfilling.
