About us
Children of the Regions in the Regions (MEM) is a social and educational NGO that has been working for 7 years to support the education, development, and empowerment of children and young people across Armenia’s regions.
Over the years, the organization has worked with more than 2,500 children and young people from all regions of Armenia, Artsakh, and Javakhk, while also engaging more than 230 experienced mentors from Armenia and the Diaspora.
MEM NGO is guided by the motto “We is greater than I.”
Our mission
MEM’s mission is to strengthen Armenia’s regions by building a network of progressive and decentralized young leaders.
The organization provides children and young people living in the regions with the knowledge, skills, connections, and resources they need to grow within their own communities, create new opportunities, and drive change at the community, regional, and systemic levels.
Our programs
MEM’s programs include non-formal education, regional activities, career opportunities, and community projects. Young people develop digital and soft skills and take part in professional training courses, webinars, educational camps, forums, regional visits, and hiking trips.
For the past 5 years, the organization has been collecting computer equipment and providing it to active and talented young people in the regions so they can pursue self-education, develop professional skills, and work. During this period, more than 450 pieces of computer equipment have been provided, and around 70% of beneficiaries have later found remote or local employment, allowing them to continue living and creating in their communities.
One of MEM NGO’s key programs is the MEM Leadership Academy, a 12-month hybrid educational program designed for children and young people living in the regions. It helps participants develop leadership, digital and media literacy skills, 21st-century competencies, emergency preparedness, and a strong value system.
The Academy has already had 4 cohorts, more than 90 beneficiaries, and 23 graduates.
