We are Teach For Armenia
Armenia is facing an education crisis. Across the country, academic performance is declining and rural communities have hundreds of unfilled teaching positions.
Founded in 2013, Teach For Armenia (TFA) is addressing these challenges by building a talent pipeline for public schools, cultivating an alumni network for long-term impact, and advocating for system-wide education reform.
Through our two-year Teacher Leadership Program, Teach For Armenia recruits and trains recent graduates and professionals to teach in rural public schools. Our program participants, called Teacher-Leaders, bring fresh approaches to education to underserved communities. After completing the program, they become Alumni-Ambassadors who continue to advance educational change across sectors. The network now includes more than 500 alumni.
Today, Teach For Armenia places over 100 Teacher-Leaders in every region of Armenia, collectively reaching more than 30,000 students.
Mission and Vision
Teach For Armenia’s mission is to catalyze a nationwide movement of dedicated leaders who expand educational opportunities for all children in Armenia.
Teach For Armenia envisions an Armenia where every child, regardless of their socio-economic status, will have the opportunity to unlock their full potential through excellent education.
Goals and Values
All of Teach For Armenia’s work is motivated by “Our 2050 Promise.” Teach For Armenia promises students born into their communities today that, by the time they are 25 years old, their community and country will be transformed by their own leadership.
